What brand of camera is better to buy for larger prints?

I am not a big photographer, but I want a simple, affordable point-and-shoot camera that will let me make good 8×10, or even 11×14, prints. I’ve looked around at different stores and taken a few test photos, but it seems like every camera produces an image that looks good on the LCD, but when I zoom in to look at it, it looks rather blurry or pixelated. Which brand of cameras takes pictures that produce better large prints?

You might be looking at a smaller version of the photo taken by that model.

Keep in mind that point and shoot usually (except that weird Sigma DP 1) have smaller sensor v.s. a dSLR.

Try here: this is a 12 MP dSLR-a full size one.

Canon 5D with Canon 135 mm f 2

another sharp one would be this http://www.flickr.com/photos/little_pooky/2691305849/

this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/little_pooky/2522671413/

and probably this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/little_pooky/2520715156/

These will print fine at 20 x 30.

p.s. I was able to print clear photos with a point and shoot 3 MP Panasonic camera.

The cheapest dSLR by Nikon is $450 and Canon–about the same price. You might be happier with those v.s. a point and shoot.
