You are attempting to profit from the "intellectual property" (the creation and vision) of another and if these works that are inspiring you are published and/or manufactured... they are copyrighted materials and, as such, the property of another. It would be considered copyright infringement. The keyword here is 'profit.' If these portraits were for your own enjoyment and use and not made for material gain.. it would be acceptable.
