What is the prep work for painting a metal refrigerator and what type of paint should I use?

What would be the prep work on a metal refrigerator that I am painting? Then what type of paint do I use. I am planning to paint it flat black.

If you go to your local paint store like Home Depot or maybe Lowe’s they will have an appliance epoxy made for painting appliances. The only thing is that it comes in gloss normally. You might also be able to use just regular paint. If you do you will need to apply a good primer first so that your paint sticks. Maybe even sand it a little just to give it a little bit of texture before applying the primer.
