How can i get prints of my digital photos without using my printer?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under prints | 5 Comments »

I have hundreds and hundreds of pictures on my computer going back to 5 years ago, but I don’t have a single print. How can i get prints without using my printer? Can I send the pictures through email or something and have them send me the prints, or do I need a jump drive and go to walmart?

There are lots of ways to get prints from digital files. You can transfer them to a CD-ROM and go to any store that has a minilab, i.e., Walmart, Costco (probably the best), Walgreen’s, Target, etc., or you can try one of the many websites where you simply upload your images, pick your sizes and paper, pay, and you’ll get prints in the mail, i.e., mpix (best), flickr, picnik, snapfish, etc.

How do you set up a table to sell art prints?

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2010 and filed under prints | 2 Comments »

I heard of people setting up a table at conventions like anime north to sell their art prints. But how do you set up a table? Do you have to call someone and book a spot to place your table? Also how do you print your art out, do you like just print using a normal printer using regular printer paper or do you have to go to a store and order them to print using different kinds of paper? I would like to know because in a few more years i might be planning to set up a table. ;D

Most of the bigger conventions have a website. You can find out who to contact and how much a space for a table would cost. But, you need to do this months ahead of time. It may also be very expensive if the convention is popular. You could consider buying a space with a group of artists and sharing the table.

As for printing, ideally you want to use archival paper and ink. This will be expensive though. You can buy higher quality paper or photopaper that will work with a regular inkjet printer, but you shouldn’t charge as much for these prints. You never use regular printer paper, nobody is going to want to buy that.

What online service do you use to order prints?

Posted by admin on February 27th, 2010 and filed under prints | 2 Comments »

I have been using shutterfly to order prints online. I have picked them for convenience because I can pick them up in about an hour at my local Target without paying shipping. This is especially nice when I just want one or two photos. The quality seems pretty good to me.

What service do you use and why?

I use printrunner. Mainly because I’ve been using them for a while now and I’ve come to love and trust them. Their quality is pretty good and service is kinda cool too. But its hard breaking a routine especially since I have developed a connection with printrunner myself. Plus I travel a lot and since its around nationwide I can always get it delivered to me anywhere. I mean that’s always a plus for me.

What are some cute prints that girls have on their underwear?

Posted by admin on February 25th, 2010 and filed under prints | 7 Comments »

Some high school and college girls cant admit that they still wear underwear with prints like they did when they were like 10. What are some prints that you have. Would you embarrassed if anyone knew you wear them?

I don’t care–I’m in my late thirties and I think some prints are kinda cute!

Going through my underwear drawer now, I see a couple of pairs of paisley, a couple big floral prints in bright colors (I agree, a very small floral print, especially in a pastel, would be too little-girlish), and even a leopard print.

My rule is, wear what you like and don’t worry about what anyone else thinks!

How much money do you make selling your prints of art work?

I want to sell some prints of my art work, so I just want an idea of how much money you make and perhaps I could make the same?
And tips and ideas on selling?

it all depends on how great your art is. If your art meets the criteria then it can sell for a lot of money say 1,000 dollars. If its a print maybe 700 dollars, but it all comes up to how great of an artist are you

How do I make prints of a canvas painting?

Posted by admin on February 21st, 2010 and filed under prints | 1 Comment »

How can I make prints of a canvas painting I made? I have small ones but I also have very large ones, they probably would not work correct? Or prints of anything in general? Also how do I take good pictures of my paintings to put inside a portfolio so that the wall is not showing or so that there is no glare?

    Sorry about my English.

You need to have a professional print lab create a high resolution digital file of your artwork for printing purposes. A great professional photo lab for printing is http://www.abbotart.com

Abbot Art provides giclee printing services for many Artists and Galleries.

In order to photograph your images without glare the best way to do so is to photography them in a photo studio. If you do not have access to a professional photo studio then take them outside when there is an overcast in the sky and photograph them then. This will give you a great image to work from.

I’m not embarrassed of my underwear!

I have some with Gingerbread Men on them,
    Some with guitars (With wings…baha)
    And…some with hearts, etc.

But I love my polka dots!

What brand of camera is better to buy for larger prints?

Posted by admin on February 17th, 2010 and filed under prints | 1 Comment »

I am not a big photographer, but I want a simple, affordable point-and-shoot camera that will let me make good 8×10, or even 11×14, prints. I’ve looked around at different stores and taken a few test photos, but it seems like every camera produces an image that looks good on the LCD, but when I zoom in to look at it, it looks rather blurry or pixelated. Which brand of cameras takes pictures that produce better large prints?

You might be looking at a smaller version of the photo taken by that model.

Keep in mind that point and shoot usually (except that weird Sigma DP 1) have smaller sensor v.s. a dSLR.

Try here: this is a 12 MP dSLR-a full size one.

Click on [all sizes] and click on [original] to see the full size.

another sharp one would be this http://www.flickr.com/photos/little_pooky/2691305849/

    this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/little_pooky/2522671413/

    and probably this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/little_pooky/2520715156/

These will print fine at 20 x 30.

p.s. I was able to print clear photos with a point and shoot 3 MP Panasonic camera.
