My brothers and sisters are wanting to get a canvas print of the kids and grandkids to give to our parents and grandparents, but I can’t seem to understand the difference between the 2 other than the huge price difference. Any help would be great! Also, any suggestions on where to go to get good quality, but a decent price?
A gallery wrapped canvas is one that is stretched on a frame (usually wood) and the staples do not show-it is held on the back and actually can be hung with no frame as the photo or art goes around onto the sides and they are "finished". A rolled canvas is just that. A photo on canvas-rolled and ready to stretch by a framer -so you will pay for it to be stretched, and then have to get a frame.
Check out a textured canvas that is adhered to masonite or cardboard-a canvasboard. That way you can get it framed (with no glass) and not have to stretch it. If you go to a proff. photographer, they will have samples of all that they offer. If not-then they are not doing their job.
