yes, however most of the time the artist specializes in a certain type of tattoos i.e.: tribal, asian, etc.. Many if not all tattoo shops have the generic stencils up on their wall, but those are not THE ARTIST'S artwork. Make sure you look at the artist's portfolio (which is an album of pictures of actual tattoos they have done) to get a good idea of what kind of artwork the excel at!

Most tattoo parlors will have a few different sets of flash up on the wall. Although there are millions of different pictures they are generally divided into four or five different flash companies. So the styles aren't always so diverse but that's why having a tattoo artist to customize the tattoo for you is so great!
